What We Can Learn From Tiger’s Masters Win
From hero to zero to hero again. Life came full circle for Tiger Woods this past weekend as he donned the famous Green Jacket for a fifth time. After a decade plagued with personal problems and a string of injuries, including four back surgeries, perhaps the greatest comeback in sporting history was complete. It was Tiger’s first Major title for eleven years and it’s a story that has inspired everyone from Barack Obama to Serena Williams.
It’s inspired us too. Tiger’s comeback is a lesson in self belief. Eighteen months ago he could barely walk and struggled just getting out of bed, the thought of even swinging a golf club again seemed an impossible dream. Through sheer determination, resilience and mental strength he walked off the 18th green, champion again, to embrace his two children – a moment that echoed the embrace Tiger shared with his own father twenty-two years ago after winning his first Masters title. It was an image of redemption.
